Meet Dr. Lena Barouxis
Dr. Lena Barouxis received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2020. During her time at Tufts, she conducted research with the Craniofacial Pain Center, she taught CPR to faculty and students, and she was an active member of the Tufts Dental Aesthetics Society and Tufts Implantology Club. In the clinic, Lena was a Teaching Assistant and was chosen to be a dental provider for domestic violence survivors through the Dental Outreach to Survivors (DOTS) Program.
Dr. Barouxis was awarded the Matthew Boylan Award at the annual Yankee Dental Conference for distinguishing herself in the area of organized dentistry and the community. Lena also received the American Equilibration Society Senior Award for her outstanding performance in the science of occlusion and TMJ function. Additionally, she received the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities Student Award given to a person who demonstrates sincere interest and concern for the dental needs of persons with disabilities.
As an active member of the American Dental Association and Massachusetts Dental Society, Dr. Barouxis stays informed about new technology, research, and procedures. When she isn’t in the office, Lena enjoys fishing, golfing, skiing, and watching football. A Massachusetts native and current Rhode Island resident, she also loves exploring nearby hiking spots and beaches with her golden retriever.
